Dr. Yona Barak, PhD

Graduated with MSc and PhD degrees from the Dep. of Zoology in cooperation with the Dep of Clinical Biochemistry, Sackler School of Medicine, Tel Aviv University. Both theses towards the MSc and PhD degree, dealt with in-vitro maturation of mammalian oocytes, under the supervision of Profs P Kraicer and Z Nevo. Dr. Barak established many IVF programs worldwide : in 1984 the Tel Aviv Medical Center– where she operated the IVF laboratory as the director for 12 years; in 1987  established the IVF laboratory  in the Herzliya Medical Center and has directed it until 2009. In addition, established programs in USA., Germany, Czech Republic (Iscar Medical Center), Lithuania, Poland (InviMed Cyprus, Dominican Republic (IRIP) and India (Genomee ,Calcutta); Ukraine (Gameta – Odessa) Russia (Moscow). In some of these projects Dr. Barak has been appointed as  the scientific director. Dr Yona Barak has trained many embryologists worldwide. In 1996 established and became the clinical director and lecturer of the MSc program of Gametology and Embryology, Faculty of Life Science, Bar Ilan University, Israel. In addition, since 1998 - 2003 Member of Faculty Scientific Advisory board  and lecturer of  MSc course for Clinical Embryology Danube University, Krems Austria, an international Program of Clinical Embryologgy in cooperation with Bourn Hall, Cambridge, UK and Alpha, Scientists in reproductive medicine. In 1996 was elected by the worldwide members of Alpha – Scientists in Reproductive Medicine, as an executive board member, as the treasurer, 1999 Vice president, 2001-2004 as president and now is a member of the honorary board. She is a member of ESHRE and ASRM, and Member of the scientific board of ISIVF, A Part and WARM.

 In Israel, was appointed as a member of the National Advisory Committee of Gynecology, Embryology and Neonatology. An active scientist, publishing works in the ART field, teaching , member of scientific board of professional journals, referee, supervising, lecturing and creating new IVF units.

Professor Ofer Levy, MD MCh (Orth) FRCS

Consultant Orthopaedic, Shoulder and Elbow Surgeon. Professor and Chair of the Orthopaedic Surgery Research and Learning Centre - at Brunel University, West London. Director of the Reading Shoulder Unit, an international centre of excellence for shoulder and elbow surgery, Reading, United Kingdom. The unit is recognised worldwide, as a clinical, academic and research centre.
Ofer Levy studied medicine at the Hebrew University and Hadassah School of Medicine, Jerusalem and had his orthopaedic surgical training at Sheba Medical Centre, Israel. He is assistant editor, Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery, On the Editorial board of the International Journal of Shoulder Surgery. Special External Examiner, the national university of Ireland and the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. Awarded UK national bronze clinical excellence award in 2006. Awarded the Kessel best research award of the British Elbow and Shoulder Society 2010. Fellow of the Royal college of Surgeons of England, Member of the British and Israeli Orthopaedic associations. He is a founder member of the Israeli Shoulder and Elbow Society, a member of the European Society of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery and the British Elbow and Shoulder Society (BESS) and corresponding member of the American Shoulder and Elbow Society (ASES) - for outstanding contribution in the field. Organises international courses on shoulder surgery, for arthroscopic surgery and shoulder arthroplasty. He has published over 400 scientific papers and presentations, written chapters to books on shoulder surgery and invited to lecture worldwide.
